Dog longevity pills in the UK and Europe
Nothing from Loyal is on sale anywhere yet, and it has said nothing about the UK or Europe.
Loyal's drugs
All of Loyal's regulatory work so far is with the US FDA, and the STAY study runs only in US clinics (Loyal). We have found nothing from Loyal about the UK's Veterinary Medicines Directorate or the European Medicines Agency. An FDA approval would not let a UK or EU vet prescribe it; each regulator decides for itself.
Rapamycin
Rapamycin (sirolimus) is a human medicine with no authorization for dogs anywhere. UK vets can only use human medicines for animals under the prescribing cascade, when no suitable veterinary medicine exists (VMD), and the lifespan evidence in dogs is not in yet. What the dog trials have found.
If you want to hear first
We will add any UK or European filing here the day it is announced. The email below is for the FDA decision, which will come first.
Whether your dog should take any of these is a question for your vet, who knows its health.
Get one email when it is approved
Pick a drug. The day the FDA grants it conditional approval, we write once with what it means, which dogs it is for and how vets can prescribe it.
