Where each dog longevity drug is with the FDA

None is approved. LOY-002 has 2 of 3 sections accepted, LOY-001 has 1 of 3 sections accepted, LOY-003 has 1 of 3 sections accepted.

Checked November 2, 2026 against Loyal's updates and the FDA. We look again every week.

All three of Loyal's drugs are going through the FDA's expanded conditional approval route for animal drugs. A company has to get three technical sections accepted first: the case that the drug can be expected to work (effectiveness), its safety in the target animal, and how it is made (manufacturing). Then it can be conditionally approved. What conditional approval means.

What has been said about timing

In February 2025 Loyal expected LOY-002's manufacturing and safety sections done by the end of 2025 (Loyal). Its brief for vets projected approval in 2026 (Loyal). In January 2026, with safety accepted, Loyal told dvm360 it expects the last section to be reviewed in 2027 (dvm360). For the two large dog drugs, Loyal has projected conditional approval in 2027.

Questions people ask

Has the FDA approved a pill to make dogs live longer?

No. As of November 2, 2026 no drug is approved to extend a dog's life. The closest, Loyal's LOY-002, has two of the three sections it needs for conditional approval accepted.

What happens after the manufacturing section is accepted?

Loyal can then ask for conditional approval, which lets vets prescribe the drug for up to five years while the long efficacy study finishes.

Does the FDA publish when it will decide?

No. Each section is reviewed privately and the company announces when one is accepted. The FDA lists a drug once it is conditionally approved.
